Privacy
What we collect, and what we don’t.
The short version: no analytics, no tracking scripts, no advertising cookies, and no third party watching you read. We hold an email address if you give us one, and booking details if you come to an event.
Reading the site
Nothing is collected. There is no analytics package, no tracking pixel and no advertising network on any page. Share buttons are ordinary links, so the platforms behind them learn nothing unless you click through. Our host keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for a short period in order to run the service and stop abuse.
If you subscribe
We store your email address, optionally a first name, and which page you signed up from. You will get a confirmation link first — nothing is sent until you click it, which also means nobody can add your address without your involvement.
It is used to send essays and occasional event announcements, and for nothing else. It is never sold, never shared and never used to build a profile of you. Every message has a one-click unsubscribe.
If you book an event
We store your name, email address, what you booked, and the reference and status of the payment. We need this to admit you and to keep proper financial records.
Card details never reach this website. Payment is handled entirely by Stripe on their own pages. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded and an identifier for it — never a card number.
Who else is involved
A small number of services process data on our behalf: Stripe for payments, our email provider for confirmations and tickets, and our hosting and database providers. Each is used only for the purpose described, under a data processing agreement.
How long we keep things
Subscriber records are kept until you unsubscribe, and then retained in an unsubscribed state so you are not accidentally re-added. Booking and payment records are kept for the period UK tax law requires, currently six years. Nothing else is retained.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to hello@theboundlessera.com and we will respond within a month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
