The first Boundless evening: a pianist, a philosopher and a machine-learning researcher traded the same three themes for a night — what counterpoint teaches about consciousness, and what neither teaches about code.
An experiment in whether three disciplines can hold one conversation without any of them chairing it. A pianist played Bach and then explained why the fugue is an argument; a philosopher argued back; a researcher showed what a model hears in the same score.
What the room agreed on by the end: counterpoint — several independent lines, none of them the melody — is a better model for a mind than any hierarchy is. The format returns.
